Do any of you know of someone who might be looking for a beautiful two bedroom, 2.5 bathroom duplex apartment in the center of White Plains? The kitchen and bathrooms are all updated and there is a washer and dryer in the apartment. The first floor has a living room with fireplace, a dining room, kitchen and half bath. Upstairs are two spacious bedrooms with two full bathrooms.

Interested? If so, please contact me for more information and pictures.

Thanks!

Please Provide Your Feedback and Ideas

On Monday afternoon, a group of BTA members met to establish a committee, which will have the charge of holding one-on-one conversations with each member of the Bronxville Teachers' Association.

Committee members include teachers, teacher aides, and clerical members of the BTA, and each member of each of our Units will be contacted by one of us.

We will be reaching out to you in the next few weeks to hold conversations about the direction our Union is going, to collect your ideas, and to increase our strength and solidarity.  These meetings, we hope, will be positive and future-focused.

The members of this committee have agreed to give up of their own time to meet with five or six BTA members.  When they reach out to you, please respond positively and help them find a time that will work for you.

This committee is the next step in our Union development initiative that we started last spring, and is a direct outgrowth of the June 1 long-term planning meeting.

Thank you for your willingness to participate.

CAll for Annual Audit Committee

10/19/2015

Please Volunteer

Dear Colleagues,

The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and the IRS require that public employee unions conduct annual internal audits of finances, and file a report within 6 months of the conclusion of their fiscal year to both the membership and the AFT.  Our fiscal year 2014-2015 ended on June 30, and we must begin the process to comply with these regulations.  Audit committee members cannot be current officers of the BTA, and will be paid a stipend of $30 for your work of about an hour.  It will require looking at how our money was spent during the previous fiscal year and informally examining our books.  It is a vital function which will reassure the membership that their money is being carefully spent and monitored.  I ask that you consider serving on this committee, and volunteer to meet with me to perform the audit on Monday, October 26 at 3 PM.  No special skills are required.  Please respond to me directly if you are able to help with this necessary duty.

In Solidarity,
Chuck Yochim
BTA Treasurer
