NYSUT surveying members about ELA and math tests

The union's concerns about the latest round of state ELA and math assessments go way beyond the pineapple question. Please let your members know we are surveying teachers in grades 3-8 using the calling center during the next few days. We have also set up an online feedback link for both the math and ELA state assessments. Was the new format too long? Were the questions appropriate? "We'll share our members' observations with education policymakers," said NYSUT Vice President Maria Neira. "Practitioners' feedback is essential to improve the testing process for all students."
