Thanks in no small part to your efforts -- and to the efforts of thousands upon thousands of your colleagues across the state -- the New York State Board of Regents has, for now at least, abandoned its plan to take up changes to state regulations that would have mandated stand-alone field tests that have historically been voluntary.
This is great news for our students who are already over burdened with too much testing. But this victory represents even more than that.
This victory demonstrates clearly that, when we stand together, make our voices heard and expose bad policy proposals to the unforgiving glare of truth, we win.
We must remember this moving forward ... the more we speak out the more we put ourselves in position to fight back against Gov. Cuomo and protect and defend New York's outstanding public schools.
Thank you for all your hard work in winning this battle and thank you for moving forward with us as we work to win this war!
In solidarity,
Andrew Pallotta
