This came to us from NYSUT leaders in Westchester and Putnam Counties:
Sisters and Brothers,
This coming Tuesday, December 6th, is a very important day for all of us. Our state legislators are being called back into session. It is expected that Governor Cuomo will be looking to present a modified proposal as an alternative to the extension of the Millionaire's tax. It is imperative that NYSUT members have a strong presence as we join organizations like Alliance for Quality Education (AQE), CWA, CSEA, and DC9 IUPAT to let our legislators know that we are watching their actions and also encourage the FULL extension of the Millionaire's tax. Anything short of the full restoration will not provide the necessary relief. NYSUT members will be gathering at 3:30 PM. PLEASE motivate your members to join us this coming TUESDAY, December 6th for a rally at corner of Martine Avenue and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd in White Plains.
In solidarity,
Karen Magee, ED 15
Jeff Yonkers, ED 16
Pat Puleo, At Large ED 15-16
