This year, for the first time, the BTA is awarding a scholarship to a graduating senior. The seniors who seek this award were to write an essay entitled "why teach." The intention is to give a scholarship to a Bronxville senior who is considering teaching as an eventual profession.
I just read the nine essays (with the names of the writers removed) and am very proud of the tributes these students are to the work we have done over the past 13 years. I look forward to participating in choosing the winner (with a committee of executive council members) and sharing the essays with all of you.
